THE STATISTICS OF CARE

The Facts of the Matter
In considering the complex issues of long term care, readers may find it helpful to examine some of the facts and statistics which lie behind the subject.

  • Around 480,000 people are resident in nursing and residential care homes. Less than 20% of these are cared for by the Local Authorities.

  • By the year 2013, 70% of individuals aged over 80 will own their own home. .

  • The number of people over the age of 80 is expected to increase by 65% by the year 2031.

  • By the year 2008 it is estimated that there will be more pensioners than children for the first time.

  • It is estimated that more than 70,000 homes are sold each year to fund care costs.

Our Laundry Equipment is supplied and maintained by JLA.
A revolutionary laundry system which kills all bacteria on all wash cycles  has been developed by JLA. The OTEX system works by injecting ozone into the wash process and kills all Super bugs – including so-called Superbugs such as MRSA and C. diff – on all wash cycles.

The OTEX System is now in many Care homes and Hospitals around the country.
